Businesses are increasingly coming to recognise that reaching customers and winning them over means more than creating things for them to buy. It involves constructing a promise that appeals to them, so they come to identify with exactly what you´re offering them.

Companies are also realising that their brand is more than just their logo. It´s a connected series of statements building a picture of what they stand for, what they do, how they do it and what kind of experience customers and suppliers can expect when they deal with a company or use its products and services.

Design is crucial in building a brand and making sure it´s expressed and positioned consistently in a wide range of ways - most obviously in a business website, advertising and sales materials, stationery, signage and vehicle livery but also in other ways, such as how staff answer the phone and the kind of welcome visitors receive.

Managing your brand is about positively influencing the way your customer thinks about you, the values they associate your company with, and the quality of that feeling. When a customer needs a problem solved, something fixed, or a product delivered it is your brand that makes them choose you.
