We get asked if purchasing extra domain names and pointing them to a website improves your SEO. A decade ago we would have said yes. However, search has changed and using multiple domains for a website can confuse search engines and affect your rankings.
There might be non-SEO reason’s to register similar names and/or popular suffixes. We have customers who, ‘purchase and park’ domains with no-redirects to stop competitors or similarly named organisations from acquiring them or to ‘traffic grab’.
So, if you’re looking at ways to improve your SEO, re-directing multiple domains is not one of them.
